Outside inside

OutsideI’ve been working on new projects involving a lot of stitching and sewing. Sewing is so relaxing and meaningful to me. I really love patterns developing in my hands. When you make something out of cloth it feels like looking through a kaleidoscope with colours and shapes emerging sometime out of nowhere: it’s  the only type of geometry I understand. Really…  It was also time for a bit of spring cleaning. Opening windows, washing old curtains. Domestic life it’s good if it’s for a purpose. Spiders run away now when they see me… They’re tough though and will come back!  The garden looks beautiful. Green and full of black birds. This big bird I made ( hiding behind the foliage) is here to stay. It will never fledge as it was born big, too big for taking off…My new cards are almost ready and I’m really pleased with what I’ve seen so far. I’ll post them here very soon.

Good omen

SpringOpen the windows today, left wide open for quite a while. Oxygen, particles of dust filtered through the light. Could it be the beginning of what we call spring? A time of celebration after this long, rainy winter. I’m hopeful for great things to come.

Studio visit

I spent sometime in my old house at the weekend and couldn’t help but notice how nice my old studio was. Light, spacious, messy but I really loved it… Such an inspiring and creative space. Here is a picture before it got empty and became just a room in the house…Studio-visit

Another New Year

Mr-PiggyFestiveBack from the holidays refreshed and ready to face the slings and arrows of outrageous wintry days. So many things to do, so many wonderful ideas. I have blue in my eyes, not the blues , It’s too early in the year for that, although I’m sure that’ll come if I don’t keep focused… A happy New Year to everyone from myself and Mr Piggy.

Woodland creatures

Woodland-creaturesWinter is coming really fast. I made these creatures inspired by the beautiful autumnal colours and their hidden creatures. I know they’re there, in their dens stocking up for winter but only magpies and crows are visible these days… You can discover these woolly creatures  in my shop.

Tigger in the forest

We went for a nice walk in the Wychwood forest yesterday and, as if by magic, a collection of very worn toys appeared. Lying on dead leaves, discarded, unwanted but still very sweet. Tigger lurking in a tree was my favourite and this is really how I found it! Seriously, no cheating…Tigger-in-the-woods
